Some Mac users are experiencing the following error message when trying to install and run Origin: The following window will then appear, it is your Mac requiring your password to confirm installation of Origin’s helper tool. It’s a security feature built into OS X. Your account should have the permissions to do this. If not, then activate the hidden administrator. Activate the hidden administrator by opening a command window with 'run as administrator' (type cmd in the search window, right click the cmd.exe and select 'run as administrator').
Hello Ryan, Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems you are having issues with permissions on your Mac. First, try running First Aid on your hard drive with the built in Disk Utility tool, as this can correct issues like you're experiencing. Disk Utility for Mac: Repair a disk using Disk Utility If you're still having an issue, use safe mode to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks, delete system cache files, verifies your startup disk, and attempts to repair directory issues if needed. Log into your user account and test the issue while in safe mode and then restart normally and test the issue again. Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac Limited graphics performance in OS X recovery or safe mode Cheers!

I have Macbook Air running 10.12.1 and am trying to copy files to Windows 10 PC. However I get a read permissions error trying to copy from Mac to Windows,
1. I can see and connect to the PC from my Mac (I can't see other way round but not clear why (if) that makes a difference for what I am trying to do)
Permission Required Helper Tool Error Machine
2. In Finder I can see the PC directories, and copy files between directories on the PC
3. In Finder I can copy files from PC to Mac
4. But if I try and copy files from Mac to PC it beings up a box asking for permission to access the (Mac) files. I enter my Mac password, and then denies me ability to copy saying I do not have permission.
5. I am the administrator, and looking from 'Documents' folder down I have R/W permissions.
Any idea what is going on / why this will not work ?
